Welcome to Rentsilo ("we", "us", or "our"). These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern your use of our website, mobile applications, and related services (collectively, the "Platform"). By accessing or using the Platform, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old and capable of entering into legally binding contracts to use our Platform. By registering, you confirm that all information provided is accurate and complete.

2. Account Registration

To access certain features, you must create an account:

  • You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information.

  • You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials.

  • You are liable for all activities under your account.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate our policies.

3. User Types

We support the following users:

  • Renters: Individuals or businesses renting items.

  • Vendors: Individuals or businesses offering items for rent.

Each user type must adhere to the platform’s policies relevant to their role.

4. Listings and Rentals

For Vendors:

  • You are responsible for the accuracy of your item listings.

  • Items must be available, clean, safe, and in working condition.

  • You must specify rental terms (price, duration, pickup/drop-off, etc.).

  • You must honor confirmed rentals.

For Renters:

  • You agree to use rented items responsibly and return them in their original condition.

  • You may be held liable for damage, loss, or late returns as specified in vendor policies.

5. Payments and Fees

  • We may charge optional fees for promotional services, such as boosting items in search results or featured placements.

  • All payments for subscriptions or boosting must be made through our approved payment methods.

  • We do not collect, hold, or process rental payments or security deposits on behalf of vendors.

  • All rental payment arrangements are made directly between vendors and renters, and we are not a party to such transactions.

6. Cancellations and Refunds

  • Vendor cancellations: May result in penalties or suspension.

  • Renter cancellations: Subject to vendor’s cancellation policy.

  • Refunds are issued based on the vendor’s terms and platform policies.

7. Security Deposits

  • Vendors may require a security deposit.

8. Prohibited Activities

Users must NOT:

  • Misrepresent or defraud others.

  • List illegal, stolen, or restricted items.

  • Use the platform for activities that violate local, national, or international laws.

  • Circumvent fees or payment systems.

9. Disputes and Resolutions

In the event of a dispute:

  • Users are encouraged to resolve issues directly.

  • If unresolved, the platform may intervene and make a final decision.

  • Decisions made by us in dispute resolution are binding.

10. Intellectual Property

  • All content and materials on the platform are owned by us or our licensors.

  • You may not copy, modify, distribute, or use our content without permission.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim arising out of or relating to your use of the Platform or our services is limited to the total amount you have paid to us for subscription fees, promotional services, or other platform-related charges in the twelve (12) months immediately preceding the event giving rise to the claim.
We are not liable for any amounts relating to rental payments, deposits, or other transactions made directly between vendors and renters, as we are not a party to such transactions.

12. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless the platform, its owners, employees, and affiliates against any claims, losses, damages, or expenses arising from your use of the platform or violation of these Terms.

13. Privacy

Our Privacy Policy governs how we collect, use, and disclose your information. By using the platform, you consent to our data practices.

14. Modifications

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will notify users of material changes. Continued use of the platform after updates indicates acceptance of the revised terms.

15. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the platform if you violate these Terms. You may also delete your account at any time.

16. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Ghana, without regard to conflict of laws. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of the Republic of Ghana, with jurisdiction in Accra.
